The growth of every educational institution is largely based on its academic pillar. At YES, we prioritize the academic welfare of our students by putting in place proper structures to prepare them for the world. Our academic structure is flexible, modern, and of world-class standard.
Young Executive School runs the Ghana Education Service curriculum in a more standardized way designed to meet the requirements of a world-class basic school. Aside from the prescribed curriculum for basic schools, YES has gone the extra mile to integrate other academic programs into its curriculum. Extra academic programs offered at YES includes;
Facilitators are encouraged to conduct regular assessment to ascertain whether the instructions delivered were properly understood or not.
Facilitators are expected to assess learners daily after each lesson. Assessment could either be oral or written.
At the end of each month, learners are again given a monthly assessment (for everything studied within the month).
Apart from our internal assessment, learners (finalist in JHS3) are also assessed by the West Africa Examination Council’s annual Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
It is the policy of the school to give homework or research work regularly. This is done to complement the teaching and learning done in school and also encourage learners to develop the habit of learning on their own.
Parents are encouraged to only assist learners in their research work or homework by providing further explanations. Parents are discouraged from writing and providing direct answers for learners.
The classes have been grouped into four (4) departments each, headed by a departmental head.
- Preschool Department (crèche, nursery and kindergarten)
- Lower Primary (Basic 1 to Basic 3)
- Upper Primary (Basic 4 to Basic 6)
- Junior High Department (JHS1-3)
